About the role

Energy operators fall under NIS2 and the German KRITIS rules, and much of their exposure sits in control systems that were never designed for connected operation. This role helps them close that gap in a way their engineers can maintain. You run IEC 62443-3-2 risk assessments, define zones and conduits, and specify security requirements for new automation projects. You work closely with our substation automation and network teams, and with client asset owners and their suppliers.

What you will do

• Lead OT risk assessments to IEC 62443-3-2 and translate findings into prioritised remediation plans
• Define target security levels, zones and conduits for substations, control centres and metering back ends
• Write security requirements for tenders and check supplier conformity against IEC 62443-2-4 and 4-2
• Support clients with BSI IT-Grundschutz, ISMS scoping under ISO 27019 and NIS2 reporting duties
• Review architecture designs from our engineering teams before they reach the client

What you bring

• 5+ years in industrial or OT security, ideally in energy, water or process industries
• Working knowledge of IEC 62443 and ISO 27001/27019
• Understanding of industrial protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104 or Modbus
• Experience presenting risk findings to engineering and management audiences
• Ability to obtain a German security clearance (Ü2) where a client requires it

Good to have

• ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert certificate
• Experience with OT monitoring tools such as Nozomi, Claroty or Dragos
