About the role

Grid operators are short of engineers who understand both protection technology and digital systems. Several of our EU-funded and client programmes include training for operational staff, and our own new hires need structured onboarding into the domain. This role builds and runs that training. You design curricula, prepare hands-on labs using our substation and metering test equipment, and deliver courses on site and online. You work with senior engineers from every practice.

What you will do

  • Design curricula and course material on IEC 61850, IEC 62443 and smart metering systems
  • Build hands-on lab exercises using real relays, gateways and network equipment
  • Deliver classroom and online sessions for client engineers and our own staff
  • Assess learning outcomes and update content after each cohort
  • Prepare training work packages and reports for EU-funded projects

What you bring

  • 5+ years in substation automation, OT security or metering engineering
  • Experience delivering technical training or mentoring to engineers
  • Ability to explain protocols and architectures clearly in English and German
  • Skills in building lab setups and practical exercises
  • Willingness to travel to client sites for course delivery

Good to have

  • Train-the-trainer or AdA certificate (Ausbildereignung)
  • Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
